PostSubject: [3DS MAX | HELP] Some problems with 3ds max   Sun Sep 07, 2008 2:39 pm

I have some problems with 3ds max:

1) I'm working on a DB9

Why when it is in max it is welded, and when I export it in 3ds/dff it is so unwelded??

What can I do

2) I have ripped a car from Race Driver GRID and the right map is on the third channel, how can I do to bring it to the first channel, making it compatible with GTA???

for the 1st problem:
thats how it always does, when u import agaiun the dff the model f*cks up
u gotta weld it by 0.0001 and after that applu an auto smooth
and before exporting you sdave the car as .MAX
so when you want to reimport it you open back the max file and its fine
oh and only in those pics i can see that the car is too huge, it will be even bigger than the whole SA if u export it Blink

did you welded and smoothened it? as KG said? Smile

and for the second problem...
save the UV channel 3
now add unwrap uvw modifier >> scroll around to see a button named "LOAD" >> click it and load the uv channel 3 saved and apply! Smile

well, thats the thing, while importing the model screws up thats why you must keep a copy after exporting so you dont need to weld and smooth it again

ah! ma bad! add uvw map modifier >> load the specific texture (make sure you are adding it on uv channel 3) now save that mapping (theres a button to sav mapping in that modifier) now set the map channel to 1 load the saved uv map of 3 Smile done. Smile

Another problem:

If I have an object with a number of materials, and some are the same (I mean same texture, same reflection...) how can I join them?
