the worst brand of cars ever is Proton from my country. Man are they crap, and they arent cheap either. Drive one for some time and the engine boils, air cond system gets screwed up, leaking PVC exhaust piping, maintenance can cost more than the car itself after some time, oh man... even the materials used to make Proton cars have gone to waste! Yet our "lovely" government forces us to buy Proton shit by taxing all fully imported cars a f*kin 300%!!! You wont wanna know how much a Civic costs here. Sad

Many people here drive riced up Proton Wira or Proton Waja cars to look like lancer evos and drop GSR turbo engines into them (due to the fact Proton once collaborated with Mitsubishi).

Proton Wira shares the base and the body with the Lancer EVO, but that's it...all the mechanics are completely different cheese I'd swap the engine with a GSR turbo one as well, I wouldn't want to pay 300% of her price for a car!!! However I don't know a lot about them, I've never tried one, even tho I'd love to...

yea Falken ur right, only by giving it a GSR turbo will it be any use in racing, the stock engine is crap and problematic. My bro has one and the engine stalls every time it is in neutral gear. Got it repaired a few times and the problem persists. I got a Corolla AE101 (sedan, not coupe) and bought at the same time as the Wira (back in 1994) and my corolla is still running perfectly well. lol cheese

However, a GSR turbo would pwn me easily even if i were to upgrade to a 4AGE v20.

i was talking about fords in general i understand some are nice..like the mustang, i know a guy that put a chip on his and got it to do 160 with no upgrades and the chip only took away the fuel cut off

It's surprising, considering that Chrysler and GM are in the same town, that GM didn't learn from the Plymouth Prowler episode. When GM decided to kick up some custom retro mojo, it commissioned the Chevy SSR, an awesome-looking hotrod pickup truck with composite body panels and a slick convertible top. Alas, the chassis and mechanicals for the SSR were borrowed from GM's corporate midsize SUV program, making the putative performance machine heavy, underpowered and unforgivably lazy. It was no more hotrod than Britney is the next Helen Mirren. In the next couple of years, Chevy amped up the SSR but by then the credibility was gone. The SSR also violated a principle of hotrodding. Hotrods are homemade subversions of the existing order, mechanical folk art. There is no such thing as a factory hotrod. Seems obvious, in retrospect.

and I completely agree, GM doesn't need to produce a "hotrod" when the consumer can take just about any of their affordable v8 embedded models, slam it to the ground, slap rims on it, a cat-back exhaust, a cold-air intake and some aftermarket lights and have themselves one sikk ass ride

the most strong version (1500ccm inline 4) is really powerful for the light chassis. So powerful, that the car starts to jump if you start with full gas, as soon as the tires catch the grip. They throw the cars nose above a bit, then it falls down, catches grip again,...

after a few moments, the car begins to go, still jumping. After about a moment, the car gets fast enought to quit jumping and go. Then, my dude took a turn, and, because of the huge height, the car acted like a van.

The engine is a bit unreliable, the car is made of a tin can, ... it simply s**ks.
