FileFront is closing on 30 March

Dear FileFront User:

We regret to inform you that due to the current economic conditions we are forced to indefinitely suspend the FileFront site operations on March 30, 2009. If you have uploaded files, images or posted blogs, or if you would like to download some of your favorite files, please take this opportunity to download them before March 30th when the site will be suspended.

i dont like filefront that much.. tho i did download lots of files from there

I liked FileFront, it's too bad they are closing it... there were no limits for uploaders and downloaders ;/

how can you compare mediafire with filefront?
FF had full pages of mods for every single game in the world, each personalized for each game, with hundreds of thousands of mods all labeled and filed accordingly, and if you didn't find everything there, they would direct you to the biggest largest most active modding site of that specific game, which was tons of help!
mediafire is just an uploading site, if you look for GTA, Far Cry or Left 4 Dead mods (or any game you can imagine) you wouldn't find squat on it, tho as just an uploading site, it's pretty okay.
but when i needed star wars jedi academy info and mods, or crysis mods, or the Equilibrium version of Max Payne 2, or not even just mods, they had all known trailers, patches, tools and so on... i would always go to Filefront
i mean they literally had different pages for each game, all listed pretty damn well and easy to find
they had different servers for US, Europe, Australia, etc.
they were doing great, man
it's like every game in this world had a gtainside.de kind of site with a large number of mods updated daily. and all of these sites were under a parent site called filefront. imagine gtainside going away... for every game out there
well, sure, we still have individual sites for each important game, but filefront made life way easier, kna'mean?

Used to be my top source for Star Trek Starfleet Command III mods, it really had a lot of stuff in it, as ALEXE said it can't be compared with mediafire which is just a good upload site...

We will miss you, FileFront...it's another sign of the crisis that's taking over now...

Good news it seems that the original owners of filefront have bought back the rights for the site so Filefront is staying open
