Official GTA IV PC Specs Revealed (Games for Windows Site)

According to the Games For Windows website, the official high spec requirements for the game are:

OS: Windows XP SP2
Processor: Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or better)
RAM: 2GB
Hard Drive: 18GB free hard disk space
Video Card: 512MB Direct3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card compatible with Shader
Drive: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive

Now, that's the Reccomended Requirements. Just thought I'd bring this to everyone's attention, incase you were expecting the PC game, that's what you'll need to get a nice and smooth frame rate.

Currently that information was removed from the site, the reasons behind this are unknown, but hopefully they'll be back up soon. Crafty Microsoft.

18GB!

It's a lot!!!!

Well actually, most of us in the general Gaming community were expecting a bit more, since the original San Andreas installation was around 6GB or so, with much more lower resolution textures, a slightly smaller city, lower poly models, etc. 18GB sounds about right for GTAIV, even though the PS3 version pretty much max's out a dual-layer DVD (which is 16GB), the extra space would most likely be for Windows-related files, ported files, various enhancements for DirectX 10.1, etc.

I forgot to mention, the original site had other information on it as well, such as a small description of the game, the ESRB rating, the standard array of PC screenshots, as well as two new ones. However, it was taken down about an hour after it's creation.

Good thing my PC is more powerful than that XD I'll be able to play GTA IV

i think they removed it because these werent the specs, i mean come on, not evne SA has 2 GB and a GTA just turns out into 18 GB

Actually SA has around 6GB for an install, like I said, so 18GB sounds right, with the new engine, models, physics, etc. I think you may be thinking of GTAIII?

A normal SA Install is about 5GB, so 18 is fine I think....problem is, my PC won't support it so....no IV for me

my pc might be able to run it.. what are the minimum requirements

i think my pc can handle .... im thinking forward adding 2more gb-s of ram i have 1gb video so i can handle it even now

ey.. just saw IV on systemrequirementslab.com (the place to see if ur com can run a specific game)

i had all marked "Pass" except my vid card. it requires a 7900

haha i failed xD

my cpu isnt good enough ...

damn it says that my amd proc x2 5600+ is not recomended!
